Do you find yourself trying to squeeze God in after you already plan out your day? Have you already made your decision and then pray that God will magically bless it instead of asking him for guidance about what you need to do?
When you put God first on your schedule your day will be blessed
Try setting aside some time in the morning BEFORE you have your day planned out. I’m not really a morning person, but have found if I don’t get up early and spend some time with God it is not going to happen. There is always something that comes up and never enough time to do everything. Making this small change in the morning will give you the direction you need to be clear about your priorities. Sometimes I think we get so excited about crossing things off our list, we don’t stop to realize in the long run they may not bring us closer to our goals.
Pray about your decisions before making a commitment
I can’t tell you how many times I have made a decision too quickly and then after praying about it, I did not have peace. It would have been so much easier to just say “I will let you know” and pray about it and give it a little time before answering. I respect people that do this and have had to call people back before and let them know I shouldn’t have agreed to do something and was honestly embarassed about changing my mind. I’m sure the people weren’t too thrilled either even though they said they understood. I have always been quick to make decisions and actually get aggravated around people that take forever to make a simple decision. The older I get I realize they are using wisdom and not everyone is as fast-paced as I am. We are all different and need to respect each other and not try to think we have the only way to do something.
Try making this small change in your day and let me know how things change for the better. There is nothing better than finding out you have made a difference in somebody’s life! I love hearing about what God is doing in somebody’s life and how excited they get.
